Age Group Rank = 3/6
Swim
  • 07m 46s
  • 440 yards
  • 01m 46s / 100 yards
What would you do differently?:

Wear a wetsuit and put in more laps beforehand.
Transition 1
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

I ran the short distance from transition to the mount line with my shoes on and then clipped in. Immediately after the mount line there is a very steep but short hill followed by a 1/4 mile of mild climbing. After that it's flat. Starting the bike in the small ring made the quick climb easier

Transition 2
  • 01m 13s
Comments:

There is a decent climb around the 1.5 mark that turns into a mild climb for a mile. The rest is cruising back down to the finish. Not a lot of volunteers to direct. There were markings ground. They were a little difficult to see. Maybe neon next time.
Run

Not a lot of volunteers to direct the turns. There were markings on the ground, but they were a little difficult to see. Maybe signs next time.

Warm down:

I chatted with some guys about the race and got a few congratulations on my first triathlon.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The swim was cold without a suit.

Event comments:

I'm coming back. I want to break top 10 next year.
