Subject: Getting Rash From Heart Rate Monitor Strap
I have been using he same HR monitor strap for my garmin 310xt for about a year. Over the past few months I am starting to get a rash on my sides where the strap sits. I clean the strap all the time and have even changed the soap I wash it with to see if I was allergic to the soap. Is there any other way for the garmin to track my HR? Could I put the strap on the outside of my shirt? Any ideas why i had no issues for a year and now the strap is causing a rash?

Aquafor  may/should help with that. other than that I would look for a new strap. It may be fraying from escessive use

Thanks for the reply. I am sure that aquafor will take care of the rash but the strap does not look frayed at all. How long does a strap last?

I presume over a year of working out you may have lost some weight, therefore it maybe looser and chaffing??

Hummm.....Never thought about that. It doesn't feel like its moving but I will tighten it up and give it a try.
