My wife Kylie is competing and I am along for the ride. I think we are staying at the Isle of Capri. Did you get the update email sent out recently? Isle of Capri is changing names to Diamond Jacks Casino Resort....just FYI, if you need it. Are you guys meeting up somewhere on race day? I can't make it to the Macroni Grill dinner but would like to meet you guys since I've read so much about so many of you. I'm actually volunteering to help with race packet pickup on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. So if you see me at SportSpectrum, say hello! I know most of you by screen name only. Yeah I did get the name change. I am ready to roll! |

Expert 706 New Orleans | Subject: RE: Sportspectrum River Cities Triathlon Whooo, only 3.5 days left!!! I can't wait for this race. My training has been somewhat.... lacking.. over the last couple of weeks, so I'm not going to take this one too seriously. Should be a great time! I'm hoping to get into Shreeveport around 4-ish on Sat, get my race packet, get checked into the hotel, and then head down to the dinner. Looking forward to seeing you all there! Jeremy

4ish may be cutting it close, website says you should be in line at packet pickup for 4:30, unclaimed packets will be re-sold at 5 o'clock. Will be there at noonish, anyone else want to meet up for lunch, maybe go check out the race site after? Also, if anyone wants to send his cellphone number, mama bear is keeping a directory. |

Extreme Veteran 530 Northwest Louisiana | Subject: RE: Sportspectrum River Cities Triathlon I'll be at the packet pickup from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Be sure to say hi! I think I'll be wearing a Sunrise Tri Club t-shirt.....but I think maybe others will be too? Well, I'll be the only asian in the bunch. As for the race site....they have repaved the parking lot where the transition area is supposed to be set up (or at least I've been told since this is my first RiverCities). IronFish is that morning, but will be well over by the time you head out there in the afternoon. |

I wouldn't mind getting in a quick 15-20 minutes, just for confidence's sake. |

Don't quote me on it since this is my first year participating, but I don't see them being able to close the beach all day. Of course, same "no lifeguards" warnings apply. |

I was thinking the same thing last night after I started planning the next couple of days. I may just get up early and head out of nola around 6. If so, and I get up there early enough, I'll try to catch up for lunch, or a swim later on that day. I've got your and Angel's phone numbers, so I'll give you a call when I get up that way. |

Would like to meet up with you guys since I won't be able to meet up with you at dinner at M. Grill. It would be nice, if for no other reason than to take a group pre-race photo. You're the local gal, give us a suggestion for time/place to meet. I guess I'll try to get there for 6:30, even though I don't go off until 8:45, remembering the traffic jam last year. For those who missed it, here's Sharon's swag report: Sharona1973 - 2006-08-04 5:24 PM The swag: two t-shirts, running cap, running shorts, socks, canteen type plastic water bottle, 2 sunglasses, 2 posters and a huge rolling lugguage bag. |

Yeah, Heather went and picked up my stuff today and was quite excited about the luggage bag. Hope you guys have a great weekend. I am thinking about doing a mock tri at the local YMCA here in Newport News tomorrow since I won't be there. |

Expert 706 New Orleans | Subject: RE: Sportspectrum River Cities Triathlon Mike (mnewton), just wanted to say thanks for the help with setting everything up even though you won't be there. It would have been great to meet you, but I understand how work dictates things. But thank you for your time and effort in making sure the rest of us are set up for the weekend. I know everyone else appreciates it as much as I do! |

This is my first RiverCities and I'm not familiar with how the course/transition etc will be set up. I would suggest that perhaps a good time to meet up somewhere would be around 7:15 a.m. since there might be people getting there at different times, some later than others. This is an awfully packed tri, so finding everyone might be difficult. We were able to pull it off at Jefferson since it was smaller. I would say somewhere near the beach/swim start area since that's where most people will congregate. Once you get the group together, you can always find a place to take the picture, away from the crowd. Last resort, if they will let you, is to page the BT group to go somewhere. |
