Pre-race routine:

Since this was a "family" race with all three kids - there really wasn't much of a routine : )

I had oatmeal with blueberries and milk - plus I sucked down a coffee from dunkin about an hour before the race. I also had 8 oz of water
Event warmup:

The only thing I did was to walk to the start finish line...

Comments:

It was a decent run... I started out slow with a first mile time of 10:17. I ran mile #2 in 10:00 and then I ran the third mile at 9:43. I almost ran out of steam on the last mile but had just enough to pass someone as I jumped across the line.
What would you do differently?:

I think the better way to ask that question would be - What would I do differently if I could considering that I had three kids? I think I would stretch and warmup more. Didn't feel like I really got going until mile 2.
Post race
Warm down:

Again, I didn't do much. I sucked down a coconut water (oh my god - disgusting!) and enjoyed a pepperidge farm gold fish cookie

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not having a huge taper... not getting into a race mindset, not

Event comments:

I run this race for 1 reason - to pay homage to the amazing people at Franciscan Children's hospital.

not sure how I missed this before. Sounds like a good time.

Can't agree with you regarding the coconut water. MMMMM, love that stuff.
