I was thinking about it too.  I'm doing DQ's Triathlon at Marlton Lake sprint on Labor Day weekend the weekend right before Shoreman.  Last year, I tore up my calf muscles pretty bad in the Marlton Lake race that they didn't heal for about a week.  So, me doing Shoreman depends on how I'm feeling after the sprint.

I'm doing the NJ State Oly, and my next one isn't again till a DQ sprint at Marlton Lakes.  I'm assuming you're talking about the DQ Presidential Oly in August.  I did that last year in the pouring rain.  Didn't post as good a time as I could have b/c going right out of T1, someone crashed about 15 ft ahead of me, skidded on the wet road during a turn and splayed out on the pavement.  So, I took the bike a lot slower than typical since I was afraid of doing the same.  The run at Presidential Oly was good b/c the rain made the sand road firmer than typical.  There's a good part of the run that's on a sandy road, just in case you didn't know that already.  If the run was on a dry day without rain, it would have been a lot tougher.  I can't stand running in the sand, so I have to find a different one to do in August.

Doing the NJ State Oly but will be out there on sprint day hanging at the Ryan's Quest tent and cheering on a bunch of them competing that day. Benefit of living 5 miles away!

Im in. This is my first HIM. Have been following the beginner HIM training program since the end of April. I did the Genesis sprint a few weeks ago which is in the same area. Nice and calm water and flat bike and run. Took 3rd in AG.

I am trying to get in at least a half mary and an olympic tri before this. Any ideas. Would really like to get in on July 14th or 28/29th.

On Saturday August 18th, I'm planning to go down to Port Republic and ride the bike loop and run 10 miles...part of training.

If anyone is interested in some group training, let me know via PM.

Anyone interested in sharing the ride from NYC?  Planning on leaving Friday afternoon to make it to the packet pick up around 5-6ish, and returning Saturday afternoon after the race.  Let me know!

Just an FYI if you are doing this race.  Last year there was not a bottle exchange on the bike.  Make sure you have all you need on the bike.

Dan, Thanks for the heads up. I currently have an aero bottle and 1 normal one. Will now be getting the cage that sits behind your saddle.

I did this race last year and there was a bottle (not exchange per se) but they were handing out waters on the bike course.  It was the run where they ran out of cups and water at the very end.

Thanks for clearing that up, I didn't do the race but a friend did and I must have got it mixed up.

Were they handing out water bottles or water in a throw away cup?

They were handing out water bottles Poland Spring 24 oz at the bike turnaround.  I stopped, they refilled both of my water bottles and then I took another bottle from them.  Or you could do a fly by and grab a bottle if you have a speedfill.
