Subject: Finally pulled the trigger on a new bike

After doing a few sprints last season and signing up for an olympic series and a HIM  already this year I finally own a tri bike. I shall miss my old cannondale but she's going to a good home. In 2 trips to my somewhat LBS and test riding 3 bikes (Cervelo, QR, and Felt) I've got my new ride!

What are you doing for armrest pads? went on a quick ride (10 miles) and started slipping. The gel is comfortable but not practical when sweaty/wet. You think just a pair of PD replacement pads with velcro would work?

i haven't had problems with the pads yet, and i sweat pretty heavy.  My LBS did say some people don't like them because of slipping, and they could order some velcro pads to replace them.  I thought i would give them a try first, and haven't found it to be an issue yet.

My other bike is a trek 1.2, so its a pretty big upgrade for me, and I haven't had a complaint to make yet

My other bike is/was a cannondale r600 and I'm by no means complaining just something I noticed on first ride. Honestly the pads are more comfortable than the PD slip ons I had. Just noticed a little movement I hadn't had before

As a member of the felt mafia- and proud owner of a B10, you'll love it.  Frankly- I prefer the new paint job of the new B16.

The frame, while not quite as aero as some of the best, it's reasonably close, fairly light and has a terrific feel.  Stable through turns at 50mph and it has a terrific balance of comfort and stiffness.  It's a bike you'll want to be on for long rides.

I see you already replaced the saddle.  that stock one didn't work for me either.

That seat's a lifesaver. I test road all 3 with it on. I'll probably never try to ride a saddle with a nose again. The felt was amazing. I didn't like the QR at all (I guess my legs were too long?). The Cervelo felt nice too. What it came down to was the LBS gave me a great deal on the bike and I didn't think the Cervelo covered the difference in price. Seemed like I would have been paying mostly for the name and not the difference in components.

Congrats on the purchase!  I was going to get the 2012 B16 but found a deal early in the year for a 2011 B14 so I pulled the trigger.

After 3 months with the saddle I replaced mine with the ISM adamo TT...LOVE IT!

I also have issues at times with the gel pads.  Everyone recommends ceegee's.  I'm looking at those as the replacement for the stock felt ones.

Enjoy the bike and HTFU!Wink

I bought a B16 for my 15th Anniversary earlier this year! It's a great bike - congratulations on a nice ride. I had the same problems with slipping as well. I talked to my fitter and he recommended CeeGee's. He said I wouldn't regret it and he was right! It was also recommended that i wear sunsleeves in an effort to prevent slippage. Good luck finding something that will work and enjoy your new wheels!
