Subject: Fruit bars- good alternative to gels on bike?

I am in LOVE with these fruit strips that I get at Whole Foods- don't know if you can get them elsewhere...they are a great alternative to gels, clif shot bloks, etc. I typically bring a few on the bike. They are called Tropicana Fruitwise fruit bars and strips. They come in lotsa flavors - orange citrus, wildberry, raspberry, cherry, strawberry, grape, etc. Here is the web site http://www.tropicanafruitwise.com/

now, would they be kinda hard, gummy to eat on the bike?  are they like those fruit roll ups?
