Sounds like an awesome new IM race!

I love the timing of it as well for all of those living in the Northern US. Wish I could do it.

I happened to be passing by Tahoe today and had a late lunch at Kings beach.  It was super windy out there today, I had to hide behind a tree to take this pic because I was getting sandblasted.  However, it is a really awesome place for a race, if IM was in my plans for next year this would definitely be at the top of my list.

I'm in as well.   Will be my 4th IM.  Also doing it with dad, 2 brothers and a sister in law.

The lake is usually glassy in the early morning.

My birthday is tomorrow so I signed up for it as a bday present. This will be my first full distance IM and my first trip to Cali. This is going to be a long year, but I am very much looking forward to it.

I'm IN! We have a house rule, no IM's in back to back years.. Wife told me about the race saying "remember our IM rule, I think I might let you break it for this"  I'm not even close to Rev3 Full and I pulled the trigger.. Oh, well, I hear it's a nice place to visit regardless.

Good on ya Suz!

I'm an IMSG alum, but I'm passing on Tahoe.
I think I like having my Summer open to pursue other summertime hobbies and just hop on the occasional Oly to stay competitive... and so not have to stick to a training regimen all Summer. Just my personal preference.

I'll probably shift to IMCABO (early season) or maybe IMAZ (late season) since StG is no longer an option Frown

My folks have place at Northstar and I get out there a few times a year.  I was crazy pumped when I heard this.  I will be there next year volunteering and plan to do it in 2014.  Great venue, but I really wonder how they are going to handle lodging and PARKING!  Kinda think that I going to be a nightmare.  Also, 2 transitions areas.  Very cool in theory, but I think it will be hard to pull off.  Anyways, pumped to see it all shake out!

My hubby and I will be there cheering & volunteering, as well.  My family has a place just south of the run turn around, and I did a training camp type of week up there last year in prep for IMWI--I know the course pretty well.  I was ridiculously excited to hear about this one, but am planning on Vineman Full next year, and exercised every ounce of self restraint in not registering Monday.  Hubby will definitely be registering for 2014, and I may be as well (we usually take turns so one of us can tend to our little boy, but he might be old enough by 2014 that we can pull it off).  Would be pretty cool to finish an IM at an olympic venue!

I'm in. Will be #3 hopefully if I don't die in NYC/NJ.

So maybe I'll have some kind of advantage from all those workouts I forgot to bring my inhaler along. I have mild asthma. ;-)

My understanding is the there is a lot of parking at squaw valley to handle skiers who drive in.  There are a couple races with split transitions, and it just comes down to a ton of buses.  As long as the RD is solid this race should be one of the smoother ones because it is in a tourist town.

Thanks for volunteering!
