Who else is waiting for monday to roll around to see if you made it in?  This will be my first Full (if selected).  I did the half last year, and really enjoyed it.

I signed up for the full, will also be my first one (hopefully).  If our team makes it it, I'll be running in honor of my brother, Toast, who passed in 2008 and was an avid runner/marathoner.

I'm trying to not be too intimidated by the distance (I've done a couple of half marathons), and don't really have a time goal right now.  I'd love to see if I could get it done in 4:30 - 5:00 range, but I don't know how much walking I'll have to do.  Just finishing will be the primary goal, of course.

Cheers,

Eric

Congrats to everyone who made it - my team made it as well!  If you're a solo runner in the marathon and want to be a part of our effort, please let me know!  We are "Team Toast," a group started by two friends of my late brother in 2009.  They wanted to carry on his tradition of raising funds for the Texas Lions Camp.  Here's a link to his story from the Chronicle after he passed in 2008:

I never had the guts to try a marathon until now (long story), so this will be my first time to run with these awesome women who started the "Team Toast" tradition.

Cheers,

Eric

Congrats to everyone who got in.  I know that is always nerve-wracking, waiting to hear.  It's a great race, and I will continue to do it as long as they let me.

I'm in for the 1/2 with a group of friends.  I had to DNS the full this year thanks to a hip injury, so I am hoping the hip cooperates this year!

I got into the full via qualifying time this year. Has anyone heard of anyone who registered for the lottery who DID NOT get it? It seems that with the increase in race slots that I have not heard of anyone so far who got denied. Very different then years past where it seemed most got denied.

I've heard from one person that didn't get into the half, but none from the full yet.

I'm considering weighted pool running with the temps now cresting over triple digits. Good Gawd!

I'm in for the full and will be running with my Aunt.  She ran her first (and only) marathon at Houston in 1988, so this will be the 25th anniversary of her first marathon.  It won't be a fast run, but it should be fun.

If anyone is looking for a Hero or Fundraising for a reason slot, Please look into Pink Ribbons Project.  I know they have a few slots available, and they are near and dear to my heart.

My wife, sister in law, and I got in for the full.

I did the 5k tieed to marathon in 2008, but that was before I got into tri's.

My Sister in law has done 2 Marathons but this will be my first.  In fact she did austin in 2011 and afterwards I said "I can't see ever doing a marathon, I might do a short tri or something" and my wife found Kemah was 6 weeks later....

I'll be out there again this year. It's a great race! It was my first marathon and this will be my 6th year running it.
