Swim
Comments: Finally felt relaxed for the whole swim. Had to sight very little because I used other swimmers. Started to side and in the middle. This gave lots of good drafting options and I had several swimmers around me at all times so I could just look at them to the sides to stay on course. What would you do differently?: Pick up intensity just slightly especially at the start to get with just slightly faster swimmers. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Noticed a lot of people did not put race belt/number on until the run. I was a little slow to put shoes on. Bike
Comments: I had very few riders around me, which was nice. The elite wave was large and my wave was actually fairly small so I could really focus. I still have trouble maintaining just the right effort level though. What would you do differently?: More bike training. Transition 2
Comments: A little sticky on the shoes. My feet were still soaked because of the heat and I got a huge wrinkle in my shoe. What would you do differently?: Body glide around shoe entrance. Run
Comments: I did my best to keep cool. I had an iced water bottle in transition, which was nice to have. I could feel the gatorade from the bike sloshing in my stomach but with the heat I'm glad I drank as much as I did. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat, too little bike training. More intense bricks needed as usual. Need to work on swim technique. Last updated: 2012-04-30 12:00 AM
