Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30am and had a bowl of cheerios and cup of coffee. Sipping on water the rest of the morning until the race started. Made it to the transition area in plenty of time to get an end spot.
Event warmup:

Walking to take a piss :)...ya didnt do much there. I was just to nervous overall to do anything.
Swim
  • 16m 31s
  • 820 yards
  • 02m 01s / 100 yards
Comments:

Start was good, there wasn't to many people so it was pretty easy to stay out of each others way. I was able to get into a draft a few times, that rocked. I didn't really try to hard on the swim, I just wanted to have some fun and enjoy it.
Transition 1
  • 01m 18s
Comments:

So I never practiced getting into my shoes with wet feet covered in sand. little slow at that. I also put my shirt on before my helmet...doh.
What would you do differently?:

Get a tri top, or a one piece tri suit.
Bike
  • 37m 35s
  • 12.4 miles
  • 19.80 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt SUPER comfortable on the bike, stayed in the drops pretty much the entire time. I was able to chill and enjoy the ride.
What would you do differently?:

Aerobars for sure, work on my swim to bike transition getting my feet in quicker
Transition 2
  • 01m 23s
Comments:

I didn't put my feet on top of my shoes, like I planned. Sorta just freaked out and didnt know what to expect.
What would you do differently?:

Run
  • 24m 40s

Comments:

Felt super comfortable the entire time, and enjoyed the run. I felt like I was able to keep the same pace.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not knowing how hard I should push it, on the bike I felt like I could have gone harder, but I didn't know how my legs would handle the run if I did.
