Total Time = 1h 41m 15s
Overall Rank = 163/435
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 29/65
Pre-race routine:

Coffee, eggos, whey protein. Then water on the way to the course and while waiting. Gu 45 minutes before. Forgot to take SCAP before the race.
Event warmup:

Short 200 meter swim and light stretching.
Swim
  • 13m 9s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 23s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim went better than last tri. Stayed calm and worked on the outside to let the faster swimmers go through. Used combo breaststroke and freestyle.
What would you do differently?:

Continue working in pool on form and open water swims for endurance and gain confidence.
Transition 1
  • 02m 8s
Comments:

Just took my time, sucked down a gel before getting on the bike.
Bike
  • 58m 29s
  • 18 miles
  • 18.47 mile/hr
Comments:

Good ride, went out hard and faded on hills in the last 4 miles. But had fun on the bike course. Rolling hills were fun to fly down.
What would you do differently?:

More hill training.
Transition 2
  • 01m 24s
Run
  • 26m 6s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Hilly - felt like it was all uphill. But kept decent pace.
What would you do differently?:

Keep training.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked mile back to start area. Ice bath later in the day.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Used this race as a training workout. So nothing really, just keep progressing toward Augusta. Finished in top half of age group and met my goal.

Event comments:

Good race and well done.

I think I saw you at the finish line.   Looks like you had a good day.  Nice finishing up with a good run at the end as that was not an easy 5K.  You can tell by the overall time range.   Keep up the effort on the swim, it will come.

Good luck with the rest of your racing season.

Thanks captn. Had a complete freak out at blacklock lakes couple of weeks ago, so this race went alot better. Swim is new for me, but I am working hard to get better.

Congrats on the double. just saw that you did back to back. Nice.

I had a black, red, and white tri suit. I went up to someone that had your colors and asked if that was you - but they said they were on the daughin team....
