Awesome!! I have been out of town for the last week so I didn't exercise but I weighed 320 this morning and went for a semi run. I am ready to tighten down and kick it in gear. Get ready to watch my numbers drop.

i need to lose about 100 to 120 pounds.  i currently weigh 236.  I would love to join this thread.  i did a mini indoor tri last fall.  i focused mostly on the swim because i was new to swimming the freestyle and then of course i placed in the middle in the swim and did poorly on the bike and run.  so now this time i'm training for an indoor tri in April.  this is a bit longer but not by a lot.  I'm trying to focus more on all three events this time.    Weight loss is a struggle for me though.  A big struggle.   I've been thin most of my life but just the last about 4 or 5 years gained all this weight.  So would love to have the support.

welcome lolagirl. Nothing to it but to do it. The very best advice I could possibly give you is to remember that weight loss is 75 percent diet. doing well in your tri is going to reflect your training. You can do it. I'm glad to see some new faces on this thread.

I just signed back on after a year! I need to loose 25 pounds, and have tried for 2 years. This time I am ready. I signed up for an Olympic in May and a 1/2 in July. I really want to be at my goal weight by July and race well!

Welcome back sueunten. I wish I was that near to my goal weight. Had I not quit so many times before I would likely be there. Congrats on signing up for your races. Every choice we make draws us closer to our goals.

Tongue out I am in. Easier for me. Starting at a heavier weight. 400 on January 1 this year. Down 20 so far. Arizona Ironman in November is my carrot dangling out there. I am finding that the more I exercise and eat well, the better choices I want to make. I like reading these posts. Good luck everyone.

I'd love to join you guys on my trip to drop 100 pounds. I started at 258 and at my weigh in on Monday I was 243.

I love all the support I have been reading on this thread. This place is amazing.

I don't think I'll ever get to the 100 pound mark, and it's taken a few years as motivation and life changed, but I topped the charts at 275 before deciding to come back down, April 2004.  This morning weighed in at 187

I've just re-entered and have really enjoyed reading about all of your successes......and how you've gotten back up when you've stumbled! It's time for me to join in & get with the program. I've been as high as 273 and today I'm at 246. Need to lose 100lbs +/- I've done 2 sprint tris and I'm training for 2 later this summer but I'd really like to do an Olympic next summer so here it goes. Keep the posts coming and I'll be sure to do the same. To our success!

Im in as well. I was 290 about 6 months ago and started training about 3 weeks ago very seriously for my first sprint. I have a buddy who has done Half Ironmans who is helping me along and things are going very well. I have signed up for four tris, one each month starting in June and ending in September. I played football my whole life and then stopped working out and ballooned up. I am at 260 now and 200 or 190 would be a great weight for me to be at. It would certainly make running a lot more fun and easier! My wife talked me into doing a 5k and so I trained for that and loved it after the first couple of weeks. That gave me motivation to throw myself into tris! I hope to compete in June at around 245 or 240. Looking forward to the challenge!

I came close last weekend.  In 2005 or so, at my heaviest, I was 275 (actually, probably a bit more but that's all I remember).   After last weekend's ride, I was 179.8.   Of course, one decent meal and that number was gone, but I came close!
