Comments: Went out too hard despite trying to be mindful of that. Then when we rounded the peninsula we hit some chop and it was high enough to come over my head every time I went to breathe. I need to learn how to overcome that issue. What would you do differently?: Learn some breathing techniques for chop. Transition 1
Comments: this transition is always so long and the asphalt is very painful to run on. What would you do differently?: toughen up my feet to prepare for rough transition pavement. Bike
Comments: Went way too hard but it's hard not too with the early climbs. I couldn't get my computer fired up (brain fart) so I didn't record the first two climbs. Without those I think my Average Power was around 177 with those I'm guessing it would have crept into the 180's which I found out did not leave me enough for the run. What would you do differently?: Perhaps dial down the AP to around 170 although I don't know if the time I gained pushing the bike was more or less than I lost on the run. Transition 2
Comments: again the sharp pavement slowed me down. Run
Comments: had nothing left after the difficult/windy bike and heat got me a bit. What would you do differently?: gotta get stronger on the bike so the run doesn't hurt so much Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: heat and wind Event comments: The 1st place guy in my age group got 3rd overall masters so I wound up with my 1st age group win albeit a bit tainted. Last updated: 2012-06-18 12:00 AM
