registration opens July 11th.

I don't know how fast it will fill up though. I think last year it was like 60-90 days.

Where did you hear registration opens on the 11th? I want to register but haven't heard an official date yet.

IMTX Facebook page and those of us who have done the race got emails. I think it will sell out faster this year due to the positive responses of the race and the fast course even with the weather.

Was thinking the samething. Along with St George being axed. How did the heat affect you?

The first year I hated life during the run, but last year I did not feel like it was as bad. I also took salt during the run and I did not push as hard knowing the temp was going to be hotter. I finished a little slower than the first year, but I feel that is more of slacking on the bike training towards the end of training and a few other factors. If I thought my marriage would handle 3 in a row I would not hesitate to sign up again. Instead I will try to uphold the awesomeness of the volunteers that have helped me through IMTX the last 2 years.

I would expect it to sell out within a week, or so. There seems to be a lot of interest in it for next year. If you don't get in before it sells out, there is always the Ironman Foundation slot available, although it does cost about twice as much. The up side would be that the slot helps fund charities and you also get a tax deduction at the end of the year

I am very interested to see how fast it sells out this year. On one hand it is a flat-ish course and not a bad first IM.

On the other hand there were people who traveled and volunteered so they could sign up the next day.... you know, when they are all pumped up and excited having just watched the race and that wears off. There are also a handful of locals who are of the 'if they don't want us, we don't want to support them' camp (them being The Woodlands). I think the delayed registration put quite a few people off but time will tell.

Did they change the 2013 date to a Sunday?

This is a good question. TJ, I thought it took longer to fill than 3 months last year. I may be wrong though. I would love to do it again just not sure that my wife would not kill me. I kinda thought that after it being so hot and windy this year that it may not fill as quickly this time around. Even with the weather I absolutely loved this course though.
