Subject: Tri tank top and shorts?
I'm looking to buy a pair of tri shorts and a tri tank top. I was looking at a set I found on REI's website (on sale, I'm on a budget). Anyone ever use the Sugoi Turbo tri tank and shorts? Seems good for the sale price, but I'm curious about the comfort and durability. There are no reviews for the product that I could check out. I'm all ears for better suggestions if there are any. Thanks!

I bought my stuff from Scudo Pro this year.  Seem a few negative commments on here about them but I didn't have issues. In fact my arm sleeves were the wrong size and they cross shipped new arm sleeves to me without any extra shipping costs to me other than the cost for me to return the wrong size.

I have worn their stuff on some of my training rides and in one race. So far I like their stuff. The shorts seem very close to TYR shorts IMO.

The Sugoi Turbo outfits have worked very well for me.  I used the shorts for the entire race at Louisville last year and will do the same this year.  I like the top for short races, but for longer races a I use a Desoto top that has larger pockets.

Some good reviews of their stuff on amazon. I use pearl Izumi stuff and love them.

Check out De Soto skin cooler tri shorts and 400 mile shorts!  I used the 400 mile shorts in Kona twice and this past weekend used my new tri shorts (3 pockets!) in Muncie 70.3 where projected temps. were 115 degrees with heat index!  Race was shortened to 1 mile swim, 30 mile bike, 10K run...LOVED my De Soto products!  Try the arm coolers also...I put ice in the sleeves.  Almost all guys and gals on my tri team use De Soto!

Do the 400 mile bike shorts run big or small, or true to size? I'm 5'11", ~165 lbs and am usually a L in pearl izumi products.

I have a pair of De Soto 400 mile bib shorts, 5'11" weigh 178 lbs and am JUST LATELY able to squeeze comfortably into them.  And to be honest, the remaining weight is not on the legs, but the love handles, so even when I lose these last 10 or so lbs it will just make them more comfortable!

I also have a bit of a hard time putting leg warmers on as well under them unless the warmers are already on.

I actually got them from someone whose quads were too big for them!

Mine measure 23 1/2 inches at the inseam and 22 inches half way down the femur.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I would suggest calling DeSoto for advice on fit.  They have the BEST customer service and you will get personalized help on sizing:  858-578-6672  The online sizing guidelines are very accurate also.
