Overall Rank = 24/601

Pre-race routine:

Was suppose to do this race with the spouse. Well that wasn't meant to be so I went solo. Early start so no time to fret.
Event warmup:

No warm up. I'm too disorganized to have time left for one.
Swim
  • 09m 9s
  • 440 yards
  • 02m 03s / 100 yards
Comments:

I think the swim was long. I wore a sleeveless wetsuit, even though a lot people said the water was too warm for one, I didn't over heat at all because it was such a short swim. The water was calm, weedy, and warm. Heading into shore the sun made it tough to see the balloon arch finish, I really don't like not knowing where i'm going when i swim.
Transition 1
  • 01m 23s
Comments:

I'm usually slow in t1 and the wetsuit made it worse than most
Bike
  • 40m 51s
  • 16 miles
  • 23.50 mile/hr
Comments:

There are some hills but none too bad. My bike training has been way less than last year. I can still do a solid sprint distance bike, but I need to get more endurance for the oly I plan on doing in a few weeks.
Transition 2
  • 01m 1s
Comments:

Tried getting out of my shoes and doing an on the move dismount for the first time. It went ok except I don't like having to look down and try and get out of shoes while trying to ride a bike at same time. Spent about 20-30 seconds trying to get my running shoes on. I usually wear socks on the bike but decided to go barefoot because i didn't think it was a good idea to run with socks on once off the bike. This made it very sticky when trying to slide my feet into shoes that were already tied.
Run
  • 21m 4s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 06m 48s  min/mile
Comments:

Having not seen the course, but knowing there were some hills, it was about what I expected. Felt ok not great on this run. Didn't cramp in legs at the beginning like I sometimes do, but did have some tightness in my right calf that I get sometimes. Stomach got a little upset, probably just my body saying what's going on here?
Post race
Event comments:

This is a race that is close but I have always avoided it for a few reasons. So this year I decided to try it and it was better than I expected.
