Subject: Gatorbait Endurance Challenge

Just a reminder about the Gatorbait Triathlon/Endurance Challenge. There is going to be a Duathlon added this year also, so if you have friends that are not triathletes but like to run and ride we would love to have them. Some local Vicksburg Athletes trained on the course this weekend and it was nice. The water was as flat as I have ever seen it and the lake just looked beautiful overall. The link below is to the Vicksburg Swim Association where details about the triathlon are. You can follow the link to ImAthlete to sign up. Also I am going to try to get in touch with some of the Lodges at Eagle Lake and post information up if anyone is interested in staying up there. I know Tara Wildlife is having a The MS River Nature Weekend the same weekend which will include a huge bird roosting veiwing (I was told there would be over 3000 birds viewed during the roost). I know they own a couple different lodges (Tara and Halpino) and offer rooms but I do not know what the rates are. Anyhow Tara is only a few miles away from transition.

I'll be there! Cracked on the run last year so I'm back and on a mission! I'm staying with some friends who have a place on the lake. Great location for a race, so flat.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported our event. The weather was great for us and we had a terrific turnout (over 200 in all). Thanks to all our sponsors also, it couldn't happen without them. The ones I know off the top of my head are River Region, Diamond Jacks, Stinky Feet, Sufferfest for the Fourth Place Finisher Awards, Peyton Distributors (thats where your beer came from ; ), Coomes Produce, Junebug Cajun Gifts for the Gator heads and feet, RCC cyclsist, Bike Crossing, May and Company. I know there are many more I just don't know who they all were.

I know I told you already, but GREAT JOB on a well organized and fun event! Everyone I spoke with was very complimentary of VSA. I'm sure Gator Bait will continue to grow as more people find out what a great race it is!

PS: I appreciated that there were no pebbles in transition.
