Subject: which bike repair stand is best for a SC

As I am preparing my shopping list of stuff to buy while I am in the US, I would like to know what is my best option out there. I have a SC 7.0 and need a bike stand for it. My main concern when I am choosing a bike stand is that the 'clamp' must be big enough to have the bike sit in it from the top tube.

Right now I have my eyes on the Park Tool PCS-10 or Topeak PrepStand Ellite. The Parktool looks very well build but I don;t know if the clamp is the best option.

What bike stand do you used? Why did you buy that one?

Thanks

I want to get a stand that does not clamp the seat post or down tube for my new carbon bike. I am thinking the Park Tool Team Race Stand - PRS-20.   I have not bought it and used it yet.  This just on my wish list.

My current stand is an Ultimate which is a very nice stand but clamps the seatpost.

Just took a look at the PRS-20. Nice stand and the reviews are good.

One minor issue that I can find is that you need to remove the fromt wheel. All good for my SC and FX but not for my SS. Maybe if I chnage the bold for a quick release for the front wheel of my SS....Undecided

I've been using the PRS-20 for a few years. Very solid yet light enough to move around easily.

What's the issue with the SS? I'm not as familiar with those.

My Single Speed front wheel does not have a quick release. If I want to remove the wheel, I need to remove the bolt. That is the only reason. Very minor but I can;t see myself doing that everytime I want to clean my bike.

I checked to see if there is a seatpost clamp accessory for the PRS-20.  I did not find one.  Changing out the bolt for a quick release would have to be the cheapest solution.

I have  SC7.5 and use the park tool PCS-10 the jaws open wide enough for it to grab at the seat post.

Don't do this.  Clamp it by the seat post, not the top tube.

I bought the PCS-9 and it does what I need it to.
