Veteran 784 | Subject: Ironman Florida 2013 Regristration I know it sells out fast, I wanted to know since the race is on a Saturady, so does that mean online regristration opens on Sunday at noon? Also any tips when registering online? also for those who have done the race, what were your thoughts? Pros Cons...etc. |

Expert 977 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2013 Regristration For the 2011 race I signed up online the Sunday after the race at noon - race time which is one hour later than my time. Figured that out after a frustrating 15 minutes trying to get in. I didn't have an issue but I guess this last year it only stayed open 16 minutes or something like that. I signed up on site. I liked the race as you can tell since I signed up again. Actually I wasn't going to do it again but a bunch of teammates are doing it so I had to. Way more fun with 15 people training for the same race. Pretty flat with a fun run for the most part. The bike in unspectacular but honestly after 3 hours on a bike I really do not care what the scenery is. Swim was fun. Water temps were perfect and I kind of like the 2 lap swim. I really don't have anything bad to say about the race. The main draw for me as it is a pretty easy drive and they have a ton of reasonably priced condo's for rent. I didn't have to spend a fortune of travel and hotel. enjoy, Duane |

Expert 1360 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2013 Regristration My only to complaints when I did it were: 1) the state park was very dark on my second loop. They have a few lights, but it almost made it worse since your eyes didn't have time to adjust. Because of the time of year, you have to finish in under 11 hours to finish in daylight. 2) One or two of the aid stations on the run course were real downers. And they were back to back. It was a cold day for us in 2010 though and if it had been warmer those aid stations might have been more pleasent. I have actually regreted signing up for WI instead of FL a few times in the past year. I know the IMWI will be great, but there is something about your first time |

You will hear the crowds on the swim, the bike, and the run. |

Pro 6520 Bellingham, WA | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2013 Regristration I missed out by about a minute registering online last year. I was all set to go when online registration opened but we were on our way to church and my wife was helping me register through her iphone. She insisted that I answer ALL the questions. I told her it didn't matter but she did not understand. I would have made it with time to spare had I not been forced to tell my whole life story on the application. |

Extreme Veteran 416 Raleigh, NC | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2013 Regristration Last year sold out a lot faster last year then the previous, I set up 2 laptops at work on Sunday to register. I also had my name, address, cc number etc. already typed up in a notepad document so I just had to copy and paste the info in the entry form. That helps you get through faster.I really enjoyed racing last year. The wind was kinda brutal but when there aren't really any hills you gotta battle something right? I really enjoyed the swim, plenty of room to spread out and the 2 loops are great to mentally break up the distance.X2 on cheap lodging. We got a 3 bedroom condo for 4 people at $200 total per person for 5 nights. Can't beat that! |

New user 24 | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2013 Regristration It sells fast, but I've never had a problem to enter. You have to be online the minute they open the registration. Almost totally flat bike and run. It can be a little cooler in the morning. A lot of condos close to the race start for a reasonable price. |

Expert 1128 Fort Riley, Kansas | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida 2013 Regristration Question about the onsite registration for 2013. Is it only open to this year's competitors and volunteers only or do they open onsite to anyone once those people purchase their spot? I was planning on volunteering and staying the weekend to sign up for 2013 but I can't stay the whole weekend, but I might be able to sneak a day trip and leave at 2 am or so and make the 6 hour drive the day after the race. |

I think this year is the first year in a long time where IMLP made it online. IMC and IMFL used to sell out on Site too. There were a bunch of new IMs added in the last couple of years (texas, mount tremblant, and NYC that have helped to curb the demand for the races. |

Have tickets to the Lions/Jags game in Jacksonville the day of sign up and will probably be in the car on the way there. Is it as simple as logging into/signing up for other races on Active.com? |

When date is sign-up? Go Lions! Stafford/Johnson are unstoppable If you have a problem with the wave starts at local Texas races then you're going to love the Ironman. Get ready to be swam, biked and ran over by 2500-3000 people. Starting behind the clydes won't look so bad after you finish with Florida. Edited by Catwoman 2012-08-01 4:29 PM |

I don't have any problem. I was curious how race directors decide wave order. Thanks for the answer btw |

I could be mistaken but I thought it was the day after the race (NOV. 4) at noon that it goes online. Edited by rjrankin83 2012-08-02 1:47 PM |
