Subject: New triathlete-long warm-up run time

Hi!  I am new to sprint tri and I love it...however, during race/events it takes forever for me to warm up during the run.  After the first mile i feel great but if I push it too hard my knee kills me.

Any helpful suggestions would be much appreciated!!Laughing

I know the feeling. I am the same way with the bike-run transition. I found that turning plain bike workouts into brick workouts helped a lot. Do your bike workout and then immediately put on your running shoes and jog for at least 10-15 minutes, varying your speed. This helps build a little muscle memory for race day :-)

Have fun!
