Subject: Anyone doing Warrior Dash this weekend?

Warrior Dash has gotten to be so commercialized and popular now that I don't like it as much as I used to, but I still very much enjoy the change from triathlon racing to mud run racing once or twice a season.  I'm running with a bunch of my buddies this weekend.  A few of us will get way ahead of the rest of the pack, but we will all wait near the final turn so we can all cross the finish line together. Tons of fun!

It can be nice to break up the summer routine a little bit with something different!

Running it on Saturday morning. Signed up last year when registration opened after doing Michigan and Ohio II. Im not completely stoked to do it this year, just with all the training i've been doing it has kind of came up on me without remembering that I was doing it. I will go out and have a good time with it, than probably come back home and do another workout.

I'll be there with a few friends to do it as a team (Saturday 2pm start).  Kinda burned myself out with all of the triathlon training last year, so this year its been fun to just do adventure races like the Tough Mudder and this one.

Same here. I will be there Sunday 8am start. I signed up way early in the year before I started getting into the bulk of training both tri and marathon. It looked cool, I did the tough mudder in Ohio and I thought I would just get all the mud runs out of the way in one year. Like the previous posters have said not exactly super excited that this race popped up. At this point its more of an inconvenience then anything else at this point.

11:30 Saturday for me.  Trying to figure out if returning the timing chip = free beer again this year.  With the site down, I can't figure out another way to get this vital info.  We hung around for hours last year "tuning in" timing chips for folks.

That's a hell of an idea.  I'm at 1:30PM, so don't try getting my chip to turn in.

Apparently those corncobs at Warrior Dash don't know how to get their site back up.  They even sent out the race day info email already with links to the participation waiver on the site that of course don't work.  Not that it much matters, I've been through their process multiple times, it's all pretty easy.

It's a shame that we are going to be drinking Miller Lite as our reward beer.  I'm not sure where the reward is in that???

Ran into the same issue when trying to print the waiver.  The way I got around it, was to use Gmail online to open the email vs. outlook express.  The site was up for a bit today.  GOOD NEWS, is that there are only a couple of carry over obstacles from last year.  The are some VERY COOL looking new ones this year.

eta, I got into the site using this link:  http://www.warriordash.com/register2012_michigan.php

I'm doing it with my kid...I forgot to change my start time to match his, so I may have to just sneak in his 5:00 wave.  I'll be doing my long run this evening.

No need to sneak, they won't check.  One of the 10 of us running yesterday showed up late.  We just waited and jumped in with the next wave.

Indeed. We just went with the 3:30 wave, which neither of us were signed up for. I liked the obstacles better this year.
