My Global Trainer recently started giving wild numbers for hear rate (mostly shooting up high).  I tried changing the battery in my chest strap, but I'm still getting erratic readings.  Has anyone experienced this?  I've had the watch and strap for about 7 months.  My hr readings were consistent up until about a week ago.

Thanks!

Make sure you have a good contact with the chest sensor - In the winter, I find I have to dampen the strap (usually just lick it) before putting it on, or my numbers bounce all over the place for the first mile or two.  You may even want to try one of the electrode gels (Buh Bump or the like).

my guess is that the issue is the HR strap, rather than the TGT.

dry weather and tech shirts really mess them up. (static)

Thanks to both for the input.  I'm going to try out a gel and if that doesn't work, I'll try replacing the strap.

I did a pretty good clean up job on the strap tonight before my workout and should have had plenty of sweat for conductivity, but it was reading 200bpm at a trot.  LOL!
