Swim
Comments: Good swim for me. Best pace ever and felt comfortable.Started at the back of the wave pack, but picked up on quite a few people in the wave and the some from the previous wave too. Got hit a few times in the face and legs, but all good. Sighting a little harder on way back,as the sun was in the eyes. A lot of people had difficulty with that. What would you do differently?: Start a little near the front of the wave. Transition 1
Comments: Need work here, but for IM, it's probably good enough. What would you do differently?: Practice more transitions. Bike
Comments: Good ride, have done this route before with the Becel Ride For Heart, so was familiar with the terrain, so knew what to expect. Not A race, so didn't push the pace. What would you do differently?: Push the pace more if this was an A race. Transition 2
Comments: Couldn't find rack position so took extra time for that. Also putting things away was a pain too. What would you do differently?: Practice Run
Comments: Bailed at the start of the run. Felt Achilles pain at the start. Also felt it when running the bike up the hill at the beginning of the bike section. So decided to not run. Post race
Warm down: Was able to get bike out of transition early so walked around and left. Was home by 10:30. What limited your ability to perform faster: Transition practice. Happy with the swim and ok with the bike too. Event comments: Inaugural event so lots to work out for next year. - Packet pickup - Run Course Last updated: 2012-07-06 12:00 AM

Went down to the site early (just after 5am), parked and sorted out where everything was. Took time and found transition and racked bike and set up spot.
Walked to the swim start and looked at the course from the shore line. Determined where I felt I would start and visualized the course.
Walk the transition to bike area (up the hill and over the bridge). And the run transition area.
No real warm up. Just wandering and watching people.
