Hi - can anyone recommend a good swim (stroke) coach in the Philly suburbs (Montgomery County)?  After my first season of doing tri's, I know that I am in serious need of some swim coaching!

Thanks.

Joanna Chodorowska. If she can teach me to swim, she can teach anyone (and she does).

I bailed from tri's last year because of my swim. Started with her end of January and routinely do HIM distance in OWS now. I feel good about it enough to sign up for a full IM next year!

I have a lesson with her today. We went from weekly to biweekly to once a month as I progressed. I'm still slow, but safe, and enjoy swimming finally.

Depending on where you are located, AIM4Tri - Mary Kelley, holds swim sessions at St. Joe's university on Wednesdays. The sessions are from 7p-8p now and she also does private lessons.

her site www.aim4tri.com

Mary's helped me get more pull out of my strokes (wow, that could be taken the wrong way Embarassed

Fantastic!  Great suggestions.  I live 5 minutes from St. Joe's, so that would be perfect.

I'll be there this evening if you are able to join us. Not sure how difficult tonight will be as several of the swimmers have SheROX coming up so the workout maybe be a bit on the slower side to not over do it for them.

Approximate cost for these coaches?

I found one person (not mentioned here) who wanted $75/hour with a minimum of 4 hours' worth of lessons--is this reasonable?

I've heard prices anywhere from $50-$100 per hour for private sessions.

If you can, see if you can jump in on some group swims, see how things go, the coach and how folks interact with him/her and then decide if you want private lessons or not.
