Subject: RE: Aero helmet recommendations The aero helmet purchasing process is kind of rough, because you just don't know how a helmet is going to fit your position, and most shops don't have a selection. Ideally, you would go to a shop with a variety of different styles, throw your bike on a trainer and test each one - have someone else look at your profile to eyeball the back-helmet interface. I'm in a large Giro road helmet. The shop I went to had the Giro A2, Specialized TT2 and I think a Limar Chrono - so none of the new helmets, but its the best shop/selection within 2 hours. The Limar wasn't right for my head position, and the A2 was too difficult to get on/off, every time I thought I was going to break off an ear flap. So, I went with the TT2. I'm going 1-1.5 minutes faster over 20 miles with it. |
