Most likely Gigantex rims just laced up locally.

A local Chicago option would be Psimet in Elgin area.

I'm Mark with Karbon Speed and yes, there is a lot of buzz about our wheels lately and many rave reviews from some of the top coaches in the sport.  I can tell you that they are NOT Gigantex rims.  They are custom built to our specs.  The price is about half of what you would expect to pay for top of the line race wheels.  They are flat out fast and light.  Ride or race on them as much as you want for 30 days, if you don't love them then send them back to us.  Free shipping both ways.  No tax.  www.karbonspeed.com

What is wrong with Gigantex rims? Of the comparison list on your website. There are two manufacturers that own their own molds and make their own rims.

Those look exactly like the wheels I ordered directly out of China last winter, but for a little over $500.  The carbon may be fine, but the quality has a lot to do with how the wheel is laced, the quality of the bearings used, and the quality of the hubs.

For the money that Karbon Speed is selling it for, I would buy something from Boyd, PSImet, or Williams instead.
