Run
Comments: This was a pretty small race, and nobody was upfront at the start, so I jumped up there and took off. I went out with the guys and just got comfy. Transition 1
Comments: The bike out of transition was immediately uphill. I put the shoes on before leaving transition. What would you do differently?: Need to work on shoes on the bike. Bike
Comments: The first lap I really hammered the uphills and downhills, the second, I took it a little easier uphill since my legs were screaming and i havent been on the bike a ton. I wanted to make sure my quads werent going to be dead on the run. The road was in pretty good shape, but there were some patches that made it a little rough. I talked to the ranger after the race, he said that they are repaving the entire route next year! Transition 2
Comments: Almost forgot to ditch the helmet Run
Comments: The knee was a little angry with me. I have a hard time running on crowned roads so i was trying to find a flat spot, it wound up being almost right down the middle of the road. What would you do differently?: more bike to run bricks Post race
Warm down: walked around, put on my compression sleeves. What limited your ability to perform faster: I need to train more!!! Event comments: This was my first tri to finish race. I liked their setup. I will for sure be doing more of them. It was a nice change from the ordinary 3D organized races. The only thing, if they get much bigger, they are going to need more volunteers. Had a Bagel with cream cheese and coffee. Packed the car, drove to the race. Registered and walked around.
This was my first time at this park, based on the drive in the bike was going to be a ton of fun! Lots of hills. I think I just found my new spot to ride on my way home from work.
Jogged around, in the first 50 yards of the run, from the parking lot up to the road, you go up a very narrow, very steep, very rooty trail. I took a jog up there to check it out.
