Is anybody going to be at Lake Marion Tri this Sunday? Decided to do the Oly about two weeks ago and am looking forward to it. Been swimming at this lake for years but have never done the Tri.

I'll be there doing the sprint.  Most of my races this year have been olympic distance or running races, but my dad is completing his first Tri!

See you there.  Looks to be good weather for Sunday.

I'm in for the Olympic too.  This will be a low-key race for me.  I'm just looking forward to enjoying the atmosphere, making sure my gear is in working order and adding to my t-shirt collection.

I'm in for the Oly. The plan is to take it easy on the swim, push the bike a bit, and have a moderate pace on the run. Last chance to work out any kinks.

I haven't raced much this year so am kind of out of the loop on names and faces. If anyone wants to say "hi" out there I will be wearing a one piece black and white trisuit and riding a gray Cervelo with a white aero helmet. Name is Bryan.

Yes!  Doing the Lake Marion Sprint as my "A" race of the year.

Have devoted more time to swimming and biking, and looking for a big
improvement over my results last year.

Hope to see ya out there!

I'm in! Looking forward to it, even though it is the last tri of the season. Cry

Edit- I'm doing the olympic race. TriRochester kit with a silver Trek bike. Should we arrange a photo op? I'll have a photographer along with.

I'm in for the short course.  As this is my first race since I hurt myself a couple years ago, this is more for fun than for anything.  Black/white tri-suit, helmet, Felt.  Tall with shaved hair and light blue eyes.

Is there a place that people are meeting before or after the race?  It'd be great to say hello to people.  I'm afraid about the only person I'd recognize is Bryan.  Oh and I am Aaron.

With event start at 7:30, and pre-race meeting at 7:20..
Should we all meet up here (attached) around 7:10?

So.....How did everyone's race go?

Mine was going great until around mile nine of the bike were I flatted .  Now I'm looking for another late season race to make up for it.

Luckily I had a spare and could finish the race, someone else flatted at the same spot and he wasn't carrying a spare.

I think my bike was between 2 of you. I was the short Clyde, short hair and a beard. I missed the post about meeting up, oh well next time. Hope everyone had a good race.

I was looking for people at the meet-up before the meeting, but didn't see anyone along the path.  Oh well.

My race went fantastic.  11th overall and 3rd in my age group for the sprint.  That was a nice race.  I'd definitely do it again.

What great weather for a race?

Ugh! Sorry to hear you went flat!
I did see two bikes off course on 250th. Was hoping that wasn't you...

I am pleased (now) with my race (but was not at all pleased during.)
Had set my expectations (too?) high, and ended up loosing all my steam on the run.

(You know about Gremlins, right?)
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gremlin#section_1
Yeah.. Think I had a gremlin following me around today.. My bike shoe cable system randomly "jammed" during my pre-race warmup - Could tighten, but not loosen. Then my chain got caught on a bag hook and pulled off.
*long sigh from transition*
And Then!! .. Awww, never mind. I didn't flat or crash or DNF.. So I really got nothing to complain about.
(So - Shoes - that's my excuse for missing the BT meet-up.. I was still in transition when the race meeting started... Using my molars as pliers...)

Nice to meet you rowdy paint!

Kudos to the guy out there racing on the 29er.

Congrats on the great races guys.  Sorry about your gremlin Scuff.  I too missed meeting up prior to the race.  Though I did get a shout-out from Jeff while heading up the long hill.

For what was essentially a gear test for 3 weeks from now, everything went well.  There weren't any mechanical issues.  But, I did forget components of my nutrition plan and essentially did the Olympic on nothing but water and a little sport drink.  I still ended up with a 7-minute PR for the distance; most of which was on the run.  All-in-all, it was a great morning to race.

Oh, and double-kudos to the lady who finished the run in a walking boot.  That's hard core.

Solid race Eric! Congrats on the PR! You look ready for IMWI.

I asked the lady in the "boot" if she hurt her foot "Kicking A$$!" because that's the way it looked to me, she had a good laugh. I look forward to doing this race in the years to come and eclipsing this years time!
