I didn't see this thread until today - I'm not sure when I'll get into town or when I'm leaving, but I'd be interested in an ocean swim also if one is planned!

I have a little sun umbrella I may need to pack to put on the beach on sunday so after the race we can all find each other...I may be creative and put a big fat BT on it!!!

So what do ya'll think about a Sat am OW swim?  Does anyone know of any good swimming spots close to the expo so that we could hit the expo after swimming??

You swam with Joel last year, didn't you? Was that location convenient?

We met at the local tri shop and then walked a few blocks to swim.  I can't remember how far it was from the expo.  We could do that again unless someone has a better suggestion.  Let me research it to see where exactly that was.

Ok- I have driving directions from the tri shop (Final Kick) to the expo location.  Looks like it's about 13 minutes which isn't bad.  We can plan on that unless anyone else comes up with a better plan.  Let me know what ya'll think!

Where you all swam with Joel last year is a good spot. It's on the bay vs the ocean so the conditions are generally good. I could probably pick up a few people from the oceanfront in my Jeep if a few want to do that. Final Kick has moved, not far, but they are in a slightly different spot this year, still only about three blocks from the beach.

So is the address that I have for them (Final Kick) their new address or old address?

Another option for an OWS ocean swim, and it's closer to the expo. The actual course of a tri down there. Scroll down to the map.

I am also very willing to drive people from the Expo to the spot in the Bay (near Final Kick) where we swim.  It will be much less crowded than the Ocean.  Either way, I am up for a swim and dinner on Saturday for all who are interested.

That's the old address. This is the new one; it's only about a block different. 2865 Lynnhaven Drive Virginia Beach, VA (Marina Shores Shoppes)

Ok- here's directions from Final Kick (new address) to the expo.  We can meet at Final Kick and walk a few blocks to swim in the bay.  What time does everyone want to meet on Saturday for an OWS?  Is 9am ok?  That way we can "kinda" sleep in a little bit but it won't be too late.

I'll join in on the swim.  That's a really nice area to swim.

Also, if anyone is interested and still around on Labor Day (Monday), I'm going to have a IM MOO/My B-day/R&R Half/BT party at my house.

I had some BTers over for the Shamrock and it went swell.

Thoughts?  or would there be a better turn out on Sunday post race?
