Icelandic Championship in Open Water. My Age group was 12(!) - 39 and I was competing against Swimmers of the National Team...
Well this was one of my goals this year since I was too scared to do it last year and I am glad I did it. During the day I was even looking forward to it! Who would have thought. Wore the new Garmin but it showed 1240m and I had it on my wrists instead of my swimcap so it was way off as can be seen on the course. It still could have been a bit more than 1K....ocean was smooth, about 15C (59F) and not many waves so perfect swim conditions!
