I'll be there on the sidelines.  Supporting my wife on this one and sitting it out.  Gotta do that every once in a while for my number 1 fan that's at ALL my races either on the sidelines or right there on the starting line with me!    I'll be there for high 5's if any of you see me!  Probably going to be at the expo Saturday and will be staying at a hotel near transition.

Best of luck to everyone racing this weekend!

We weren't able to get into the race so mr2tony and I will be body marking starting at 4:30am and then volunteering at the Team In Training water station until about 1pm or so.

See you bright and early on race day

Bib #3513, Wave 25.

This is supposed to be my first Olympic, but a little worried about what happens with potential storms on Sunday. Everyone wish, pray, beg, anti-rain dance... whatever it takes to score decent weather!

Congrats to everyone that raced today!

There were some tough conditions out there when the rains hit, so a huge well done to all finishers!

and thanks to all the volunteers!  It wasn't very pleasant for them standing out in the rain.

I second that.  Plus they had to put up with all my lame jokes trying to get a laugh out of them.

It was nice to meet you yesterday! I don't know if I was entirely coherent at that time in the morning - I'm pretty sure I introduced myself as doxie instead of with my real name. Thanks for volunteering and I hope you had fun!

I didn't have the best day yesterday. Had an awesome swim, but wiped out on the bike about 9 miles in.I didn't break anything (just have road rash and cuts) but my bike was trashed so my race was done. It was my first DNF, so a bit of a letdown.

Did anyone else see Rahm? He did the sprint and I saw him on the run. I love that our mayor does triathlons!

Sorry to hear about your spill Doxie.  I know it can be a pain in the butt, but I hope your road rash heals up quick!

Too bad I didn't see this thread, I would have made a point to see some of you  Great job to all those that raced, especially if you got caught in the rain!

Sorry to hear that about your race.  Will you be able to get the bike fixed to race another day?

I saw Rahm start the swim then I had to get things going for my start.  I agree that we have a Mayor into triathlon as much as us.  I don't foresee the Chicago Triathlon going away anytime soon.

I had enjoyed my day and race, even with the rain that came later.  I ended up finishing 12th in my age group, with a 14 minute improvement over last years time.  I am thrilled about the progress that I have made.

Anyone doing the Tri Rock race in Lake Geneva?  I signed up for the sprint and that will be my last tri of the year before focusing on a half marathon and beginning IM training after the new year.

Thanks to all the volunteers at the race, they did an amazing job all day, and their enthusiam during the race was awesome!

Do not feel bad I was going to make a sign but since I forgot to tell people to look for it I did not do it.  I know I had 2.5 hours to kill before I swam

I was there.  I got out in wave 15 (7:02am)  so I was done long before the storms came in.  I didn't envy anybody in the latter waves that had to race in that miserable rain.

I saw Rohm in the morning before the race started.  I left transition to use the portapotty.  I was walking back to transition to finish setting up and grab my wetsuit and he walked right past me.  We practically brushed shoulders.  He's a tiny little dude.  Looks fit though.  One of my friends who raced was in his wave.  He was right next to him in the water.  I guess Rohm had a very respectable finishing time too.  Good for him!

Ran was not fun.  I got it about 14 miles into the bike in the oly.  The cooler temps were nice at the start of the bike but I knew the weather could not would out.

So sign ups today.  who is in?  I am planning on it but I just do not have the money right now.

I was in wave 29, so I had just finished the bike when the rain started.  Didn't really get heavy till i was walking back to the hotel.  That was HORRIBLE!  I'm probably in for next year again, but I wanna see when Rev3 Wisconson is.  I'm gonna step up to the half next year!

Nice job to all the finishers though! I had a blast!
