Pre-race routine:

Early rise and drive out to Gullane, porridge en route but no change to go to the bathroom - would be consequential later!!

Bike set up and in transition, coffee and then warm up on beach

Comments:

First Olympic Sea Swim and all in all it wasn't too bad, head on into the waves at the start then keeping on course was a bit of a challenge and the 315 degree swim in was v choppy with waves slamming into you but all in all it wasn't as bad as people had made out.
What would you do differently?:

try to draft a bit better but I don't trust people to sight well enough.

Attack the uphill a little now I'm more familiar with the route.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weight and tiredness, I'd put on about 20lbs over the year and been away all week
