There was some talk on ST about the water temp too. Rumor had it that surface was 81 and 3-5ft depth was 78. Looks like it'll come right down to the wire.

Who wants to pitch in for a few tons of ice for Lady Bird Lake?

Doesn't look like it'll dip enough.  Temps are upper-90s/low 100s daytime, upper 70s night-time.  If anything, water may be a bit warmer by race day.

Sorry.

It's all good. Thankfully the benefit of being in TX all summer is that I've gotten much more comfortable with non-wetsuit swims. I do still prefer wearing one if I can--still decreases the stress level a little bit, but at least it's not a major source of anxiety anymore.

I'm in for the OLY.  I doubt that it will be wetsuit legal.  Temperatures have been too high.

I'm in for the sprint - #1529. I'd injured my shoulder pretty well in a crash during the Marble Falls tri, and just got released to swim last week, so this will be interesting.

Best of luck to everyone!

Well, the finishers should all be in about now... Congrats to all!

On a side note, did anyone else's Garmin say the swim was a tad bit long? Like, 200m long?

Great course, very well-run race, and a great crowd. Despite prolonging my aquatic suffering, 2 thumbs up for TriRock.

Didn't stick around to see my time but I think I was in around 3:02.... Didn't take in enough calories on the bike, I think. Just couldn't get going on the run, and by the time I chugged enough sports drink to pick up the pace, it was over.

Thats a great time Dr. Pete. My wave was supposed to start at 7:44, I'm not sure if started on time as I didn't wear a watch. I finished at 10:59. Had one flat on the bike course right at Cesar Chavez and Congress as I was starting the 2nd loop. I enjoyed the swim, didn't notice any bat poop, the ride up Congress 3 times and the turn on Atlantic were tough. Bike course was crowded at times but navigable. Still waiting on official results as I left right after for the 5 hour drive home. Hope everyone met their goals this race.

Dr. Pete - My garmin said I swam 1.04Mi or about 170M long. I thought that it might have just been my poor sighting work but given that the course was new this year it could have been measured wrong.

On the bike, I launched a bottle from between my aero bars for the first time ever early in the first lap. In hind sight, I should have stopped for it but a the time I figured that the bike would only take an hr 5 to and hr 10min so I should be fine. Plus it is just really hard to stop during a race.

I was a little slower on the run than I was in May at Cap tex on the run but I am pretty sure that it was hotter yesterday than in late may. Hard to say how much if any of my run slow down was lack of cal and h2o on the bike.

Over all was 2:46 or 2:48. Not really sure b/c in addition to my many other execution mistakes I shut my garmin off at one point for a few minutes. I will have to wait till they post the results to find out.

Congratulations to all who competed and thanks to the volunteers.  I had a great swim, around 32 min.  I thought I did better but I was happy.  Great bike around 19mph.  But I hit the wall on the run.  Poor training, nutrition,  I do not know what happened I just ran out of gas.  I walked for 5 min.  Besides the run I had a good time.  Kerrville is up next I will focus more training on the run.

Results are up, just not on the TriRock page.

Also, it looks like pics are trickling in on Marathon Foto already, though they're still tagging. I have 12 pics already, though.
