Driving around Parkersburg was no fun. Busy, small business town with one-way streets and a lot of traffic. Just difficult to get around and not so easy access to Route 77.

This race course was the most difficult of all the half marathons that I have run to date.

Full four day load of Race Day Boost. No breakfast race day morning. One gel 5 min before start of race. At mile 5.6, 2, Enduro's. One gel at mile 8.6 and drank both 10oz bottles of Heed during run.

Cool and foggy at start of race. Sky's remained overcast till about mile 9 and then the sun broke through; still a nice day with cooler than expected temps.

I managed to run the entire course, in spite of two hills; one long and gradual incline at about mile 2 and the other hill, short and steep on 13th street at mile 11. Tough! Finish time was better than expected. Top three in my age group were from WV and fast.
