Heard that a male training for a triathlon was missing at Joe Poole Lake. They have been searching the water for him.His wife reported him missing yesterday evening. That's all I know.

Heard from someone that knew him. He was a member of LTF Mansfield, left behind wife and two young kids. Was training for Prairieman. So sad. People sy don't swim W/o a buddy but let's be honest when we swim in a group do we really pay enough attention to the other swimmers in our group?

I lead a group coached OW swim Monday nights for Triple Threat and people can swim with a buddy or by themselves. I do make sure all the swimmers check out and don't leave till I see everyone out of the water and checked out. Might not be perfect but at least if something happened someone wouldn't be missing for two days.

What happened is sad and tragic. I did not know this man but when I heard about it, it brought tears to my eyes. Still does. My heart goes out to his family.

Our tri-club (Tri-Junkies) normally swims at that exact location where he was found.

The lake is full of weeds and we wonder if he got tangled up.

I read that his wife stated he learned swimming 2 years ago.
