Subject: RE: Staying up late.

Just an update to everyone.

I want to give a big, public thank you to one of the BTer's whose generosity made my eyes water.

Mike - aka NeverEnough contacted me via pm and offered to use Mariott points he had saved up to cover a room at the Residence Inn.  He reserved a 1 bedroom 2 room suite for me, my mother (whom I haven't seen in a couple of years) and my son to stay in Reno the night before the race.  This is perfect, because there is a shuttle from Reno to the race start, and the race will finish in Reno.

I am seriously overwhelmed and amazed at how a thread started to ask sleeping advice resulted in a room for me to stay in.  I know for a fact that this will help my race efforts, and I sincerely thank you Mike.

I know you were not looking for public accolades, but I felt the need to thank you.

I hope to be able to do this for someone some day as well.

And I would like to thank everyone here for their advice as well.  I will be sleeping very well tonight, and tomorrow night, and will do my best to get as much sleep as possible the night before the race.

Beg steal or borrow for hotel and forget all the driving. Commuting like that can wear on the body and mind. I"m more tired after a day of driving than training!

This made me laugh.  I have already had to beg, borrow and barter to get where I am at today.  See the story of my bike here:

I remember that now! awesome story. I am rooting for you to succeed big time this week regardless of whether you sleep or not!!You do what you gotta do and work hard for what you got. Now, someone find a hotel 6 along the way that needs some website work!!

Proof I take all of this advice seriously.  It is only 8:45 p.m., and I'm off to brush my teeth, and be in bed by 9:00.  I normally stay up until about 11:00.

Good night all.
