Pre-race routine:

had a bagel and a french vanilla cappacino on the 20 min ride to the race.
Event warmup:

forgot my sunglasses so I had a nice run back to the car to get them.

Comments:

started out slow, then picked it up after the first mile. Got a side cramp around the 3 mi mark and it stayed for the rest of the race.
What would you do differently?:

I have to figure out why i am getting these side cramps.

side cramp, legs and lungs were willing.
