ironultrared - 2012-09-20 1:39 PM Okay - so back to the race...  Chili's?  Just north of T1, say about 6pm? Wildcat, Gomes, DJ (and your better half), will you be there?

I'm assuming this is Sat night.  Can I crash the party so I can meet all of you?

Thanks Bets12.  Up to 80% now.  Well, it will definitely keep us cool.  My daughter is doing the sprint and I am doing the oly.  She is looking forward to possible rain on Saturday!

Good luck everyone! This will be my first 1/2 Ironman. Is it weird that the one thing I'm looking foward to (other than the race of course) is stuffing my face afterwards?

Good luck on your half.  I know Djastroman and Ironultrared are doing the half plus some more of my friends.  I am just not ready for that distance I am doing the Oly.

I will be wearing a Beefteam Tri Kit.  Spicewood Demolition Derby Visor.  Anyone say hello.

On Sat at the Check in I will be wearing  a Kentucky shirt, honoring the loss to we will take in football on Saturday.  Djastroman you wearing you Michigan attire?

Nope I will be in my Team Type 2 gear.

Wondering if we'll be allowed to cover any part of our bikes overnight on Saturday if its going to rain all night

Crash away. It looks like we'll have a limited number of people, though. Would be nice to get a head count.

Had a great event. Took an hour off from Longhorn last year. I was very impressed with High Five events, it was extremely well run. I will for sure do another one with them.

That is awesome!  I did as well, about an hour too.  The weather conditions were extremely favorable which was great.

Man I'm still pumped up.  I want to do another one like right now.

What a a great day.  Congrads to everyone.  Many good athletes.

Me three.  I had a PB in the OLY.  Could have pushed a little more in the run.  But,  I am feeling good today and ready for another one.

High Five does a great job.

Well, I finished my first HIM, a PR of course.  Weather was perfect. Loved seeing everyone so many times on the run course.

I'm also running the Open Corsa tires with latex tubes.  I didn't get any flats, maybe because I'm so slow Wink

Now I'm going to try marathon training.

Congrats!

Yeah I'm not sure what is going on with those tires.  I didn't have time to inspect the tire/tube on the first flat to see what it was, so I don't know if I just ran over something and it was still stuck in the tire or if it was multiple pinch flats from riding on the rough road in aero.

Either way I'm going to need a new tire now!  I may have to talk the wife into a new front wheel as well.  Maybe go for a tubie?  If I go clincher I'll probably go to the conti GP's instead of the Vittoria Open Corsa's just because I had flats in 2 races this year and it pissed me off.

I actually had a Corsa Evo on the front and GP 4000s on the back.  I only did the Oly but the tires held up fine.  Not sure if I was lucky or you all were unlucky.  I have been using the Corsa on North Parmer in Austin (plenty of junk in the road) and haven't had an issue.  Maybe I am just slow all the way around?!  Just wanted to let you all know that it may not be the Corsa Evo's.

Race was lots of fun but not one of my best days. Race report to go up shortly but let's just say the run is 13.1 miles, not 13.

Are you saying you measured the run at 13?  I measured it at 13.3, a good friend of mine measured it at 13.38.  Pretty sure it was long.  But not as long as last year...

I believe Rick is referring to being passed at mile 13 due to leg cramps and lost the AG win to his friend Jim.  Take a look at his RR, his race was amazing.

Ah - thank you.  I missed that.

So, sorry, Rick.
