Subject: Fremont CA lap pools/bike rental

Hi

I will be in Fremont next week for 10 days for work. Can anyone direct me towards indoor pools, where I can buy a day/week pass, so I can get some laps in? 

 

Also is there a bike shop that I can rent a bike from for a day to get out of town?

 

Obviously I can run from my hotel door but if there are any particularly nice parks/paths where I can go walk, run or hike I open for suggestions to those as well.

I don't know the Fremont area but across the Dumbarton is an outdoor pool at Burgess Park in Menlo Park. they have a website. As for bikes...do a search of bike shops in the area and call them!? good luck! I can show you some great trails if you want to go ride. Or I can direct you to some great riding...flat or hilly or both! pm me if you are interested

For bike rentals, check with

They're the only bike shop in town.

If you want to run in Fremont, you can try running around Lake Elizabeth. It's pretty scenic, popular with walkers/runners, but it's paved and pretty short. (only a couple miles).

For a hilly hike (or run), try Mission Peak.

For trail running, try Coyote Hills Regional Park and Alameda County Creek Trail.
The latter has mileage markers which are handy and allow you to run a flat distance (up to 11 miles each way) on either pavement or trail. Pick your poison. It's good for marathon training.
