kmwilliams - 2012-08-31 9:35 AM My truck has lots of stickers. 26.2, 140.6, bike shop, FELT, USAT. Plus I have Share the Road Bike Plates.

You sound just like a good friend of mine.  He's a total badass and swears the only reason he has stickers on his truck is so that people won't keep asking how he got to be so fit-looking.  I'm not even exaggerating, he looks like the kind of people you see at the host hotel for an Ironman...

I am, on the other hand, nothing special to look at.  I'm not very big, I have a larger gut than I would prefer and I'm getting old (as is evidenced by my grey hair).  I SHOULD have an Ironman sticker on my car, so that people will know I'm not a total slacker, but I don't.  Instead, I have this license plate on my Mini Cooper:

License Plate

I think it get the point across....

You tell me where to get one, I'm all over it. My finish time may have been sad, but it's a long way to swim, and I as jazzed about it as my first half-marathon. Not dumb at all.

I FOUND A 5k SWIM STICKER!!!!!  Check it out:

lmwel - 2012-08-31 6:56 AM Sorry about the multiple post.  Had trouble posting pic.  Tongue out

Doesn't the 26.2 sticker trump the 13.1 sticker?  I thought it was like the marquee at a hotel, only the best stuff makes the sign.

It does, and for that matter so does the 70.3. I just couldn't bring myself to cover it. Maybe when I get my 140.6 I'll remove everything else.

Yeah be careful with that............that’s when my suburban died.  Yell

I have a small USAT sticker on a side window, and 2 magnets on the back: a Team in Training magnet and a 140.6 magnet.

You're only a true "tool" when you get the 70.3, or 140.6, shaved into your head. (I so wish I'd taken a picture of that dude!)  And if you're ever parking your stickered truck, or sporting the IM visor or T-shirt or whatever next to me in transition, and hear a skinny 70-something lady with alarmingly muscular legs say loudly, "Well, so what, he was probably LAST in the Ironman!" (She's actually said this.) you've just met my mom. Some people just can't be impressed!

You stole my mom?!

Down to the legs???

There's TWO of them?

And people think *I* don't have a filter ...

Come to think of it, that Chinese character sticker on my car is probably something I actually would say, then. Tongue out

None. Have never had a sticker on any automobile. Why spend all that money and decorate it with stickers?

I have a CdA and an AZ IM finisher sticker on the back of the minivan.  Just bought one from Louisville to go on there too.   Don't give a flying f*** what anybody else thinks about it.

no stickers allowed...company car.  Besides if I advertised I cycle, the crooks would probably break into the car thinking there was a bike to steal.

I used to have a magnet that said, "swim taxi" as I was the designated driver to the OWS beach area, but boss busted me and made me remove it.

Some of these posts are funny.

I don't judge people with their 'sport' stickers, even if it's a 5k one.  Everybody has different levels of accomplishments.  Let's say I see someone with a 5k and think 'tool' like that one guy on here said.  Then the driver get's out and is missing one leg or has some other handicap.  Who's the tool then?

Once I become 'perfect', then I'll be comfortable judging others.  Until then, I'll just focus on my own goals.

My parents bought me a 140.6 license plate holder last year after my first IM.  They were so proud.  They also bought me stickers but I didn't put them on.  I figured the plate holder was enough.

Well said sir, well said.

As for stickers, I'm currently in the hunt for one to PROUDLY place on my trucks rear window after finishing my first Oly. Now I've finished several Sprints, but felt the need to wait until I made that Oly distance before placing a sticker on the old girl, (my truck not my wife). Currently I have a GRT(Goruck Tough) sticker and a "Body Piercing Saved My Life" sticker. Use to have a few sarcastic phrase stickers on my truck, but as I've gotten older I realized that that was not the image I wanted to put out there about me so off they went.
