I drove the bike course on Saturday and it seemed that some of the turns on the cue sheet were wrong. Anyone else have that trouble? For example, the cue sheet says turn right onto Old US 1 (off of Pea Road)  and head east toward Corinth Rd. Actually it's a left onto 1 (east). Seemed like there were a couple of other turns that were off as well. Hopefully the roads will be well marked or there will be volunteers directing folks? Anyone know? Would hate to get lost/confused on race day. It's a tough enough course without adding miles!

Hmm you have a point. But the road is marked with an FS and an arrow to indicate turns. When you get to the end of Pea Ridge you will definitely turn left then immediately right onto Corinth Rd. then right onto Avents Ferry/NC 42. I've ridden it 3 times now with no issues following the road markings. Must be a glitch in the turn by turn feature on the map. The FS cue sheet itself is spot-on.

As long as the road markings are there and correct, I'll just watch the road then. THanks.

They are there, and correct.  Here is the first cue sheet that FS uploaded; it is correct.

Water temp today...81.  Come on, come on...rain will help, as will lower temps.  I would love to use the wetsuit!

It's going to be a dark setup out there Sunday!  Sunrise is after race start.  Sun to the right on the outbound leg, to the left on the inbound.  I breathe right, so once we clear the turn, I'm home free!

Thanks for thinking through this race so well, so I don't have to!! Good points.

79 at 0800 today.  It might, just might, get to 78!  If not, oh well, can cover the distance fine, but it would be nice to have a little help!  Race info is posted; all men wave 1 0700, all women wave 2 0703.  Be kind when y'all go past y'all!  I should have a nice empty transition area when I get done swimming...everyone will already be on-course

My AG has 25 in it (M35-39) out of 194 total entrants!  Holy moley!  That's not counting the walkups Sunday morning.  Already know one DNS (due to his son's baptism).  See y'all out there, putting the last ride in this afternoon.

Wait until you get a little bit older and join us 40 somethings.  40-44 has 27 participants.  I believe that's the largest age group (as usual).

You too Carol, be kind as you whiz past me in the water!  See you out there.  My great friend Paul will be at chip distribution, as well as on the bike course at the evil right turn onto Gum Springs.  He just finished IMWI 2 weeks ago, and is flying in from Portugal just to volunteer Sunday

Has anyone run the race route?  The map looks like much more vertical than the race description would lead you to believe.

Yes, it is not flat but not insane. Enough to keep you looking for the downhills.

The run course looks kind of annoying to me. long gradual up for 3 miles, long gradual down. Repeat. That's what the elevation looks like, so I am expecting to me annoyed on the long graudaul ups! Downs will be nice!!!

There wi be enough up/down on Seaforth to keep it interesting. Better than White Lake IMHO, no running along 701.

Gorgeous day and a real nice race, even if the course was a little more difficult than expected (by me at least). Question, though - how short was that swim course? I'm just not capable of swimming 1.2 miles in 25 minutes and change.

Based on my time, and my capabilities, I'm thinking it was in the 1350-1400m range.  I completely didn't even know how short it was until about an hour into the race, when my planned nutrition points weren't jiving...then I was like WTF??? when I looked at my watch.  Still, a good race, good job to FS for this first event.
