ChrisM - 2012-09-06 1:44 PM It's a frickin locker room, not grandma's dining room.  People wanna walk around nekkid in a locker room makes no never mind to me.  The ball blow drying move, on the other hand.....

There's walking around naked, then there's sidling up next to someone, putting a foot up on a stool, and striking a conversation naked.  Two VERY VERY different things.

Again....  as I said in the thread, I was referring to people that say "use a towel" in the locker room, not those that don't like junk in their face, I don't either.  But if you (the royal you) have a problem with men walking around in a locker room without a towel, you probably shouldn't be in a locker room

The gym I used to go to put the weight scale right at the entrance.  Every time I walked in, there was a naked dude weighing himself right in front of me.  I asked them to move the scale, they didn't, and I'm no longer a member of that gym.

A bit extreme?

Are these folks on there for a half hour calibrating the thing with their body weight?  I'd think a quick hop on, weighing yourself ("think light!"), and hopping off is a-ok, regardless of location.

Look, who cares if a naked guy weighs himself?  It's a MEN'S locker room....if you can't handle simple nudity, then yeah....find another gym.

Naked guy weighing himself in the locker room totally fine. But i don't need to be greeted by the naked weigh in committee as i enter the locker room. Give me a second to get in there.

The showers from the pool into the locker rooms are a bit confusing at our Y.....it's always a hoot when some woman steps into our shower.  It's probably not the same when it happens in the women's locker room, but it always cracks me up when it happens in the men's.

The best was the gal who stopped in the middle of the shower when she realized what she had done.....then she kind of covered her eyes and ran through the shower, TOWARD the rest of the locker room....she was shreaking the whole way. Laughing

Now THAT'S worth a visit to the Gym Director to place a serious complaint and get that guy tossed out!  All laughing aside, that one severly crosses a line.  OMG that's almost criminal and worthy of an arrest!

I used to go to the Y where locker rooms are side-by-side and have entrances on both ends, one to the lobby and the opposit end to the pool.  Depending on where you are entering, the women's room's door may be on your left or right.

5:30 am morning swim.  Arrived Y, opened door on the right.  Saw a queue of (half) naked men lining up for something.  Eyes followed the queue and saw the scale.  Screamed.  Turned around and ran while shouting appologies.  As the door was closing, heard an eruption of laughter.

I don't get what's going on here, even the Vatican have removed the leaves from the statues, recognising that the human body is a beautiful piece of art and engineering.

I'm gonna "ball tap"* that David next time I am in Florence, Italy, what with his hanging his junk over my head and all......

*I don't even know what the hell "ball tapping" is, but I am assuming the context in which it was used in this thread is some moacho kick your a$$ type of thing, not a pleasurable experience one might pay a female escort for.

This thread has been, far and away, the highlight of my day.

I cannot for the life of me believe that a rational male uses a hair dryer to dry...down there.  Thank you BT'ers....I now have a whole raft of mental pictures I may never be able to get rid of.

Going to go dry my tears of laughter and try to move on with my life now.

I kid you not, I saw a guy eating a banana as he was walking through the locker room. He set the banana down on the bench got something out of his gym bag, picked the banana up and continued to eat it on the way out.

I had the guy who across from me in the shower was making sure one particular part of his body was very very very very, most certainly clean.  I was hurrying not wanting to face him and certainly not wanting to face away from him.  YIKES!

Not sure why all you guys care so much... I just do my swim, take a quick shower, change and leave. Don't really notice what the other women in the locker room are/are not wearing. As long as they don't physically assault me or verbally harrass me, it's all good!

The naked socialite seems to be everywhere! I avoid eye contact and attend to business which deters said socialite from engaging me in discussions about politics/weather/sports etc.

This past Wed an incident crossed the line in my opinion. After a long swim, I decided to sit in the dry sauna and relax. There was another guy in there so gave the ubiquitous howdy and sat in my corner appropriately covered. In walks an older guy (naked) who hangs his towel on the partition near the heater. He proceeds to let out a healthy belch followed by an encore of dropping a$$ and then he walks out! I cannot believe that people can be so rude! What can a guy say? It boggles the mind! I have witnessed the ball dryer guy, the bare butt on chair guy, the shower contortionist guy and the naked groomer. They, like the flatulent guy, all seem to have one thing in common: they don't give a rats behind about those also using the facilities.

I have one to add.

Showering at the Y and a guy pulls out a toothbrush and proceeds to brush his teeth while showering. Yes he was naked.  Yes, there were 4 other people sharing that space, all showering, all naked. And he still just brushed his teeth like it was no big deal.

Clearly differs by culture. My gym has a mix of Asians (mostly Vietnamese, plus some expats) and Westerners. The school pool locker room is also used by a mix of Western and Vietnamese staff. Many of the Asian women simply do not appear undressed in the main locker room area. They either take their clothes (or at least underwear) into the (private) shower stalls and dress there; or (at the gym) come out in a towel/sarong and then go into one of two curtained "changing rooms", often with a buddy or two. Some emerge after putting on underwear and parade around for a while, chatting, weighing themselves, doing hair and makeup etc. in bras and panties--I guess that is considered "decent" enough to be among other women in the cultures represented.

The Western (or Westernized) women typically come out of the shower with towels and change right by their lockers.  I don't like getting my clothes damp, or waiting for a changing room to open up (ladies hang out, talk, and giggle in there forever) so I just do the Western thing. Some of the Asians, esp. the female cleaning and security staff, do seem to be uncomfortable with that, though, and I know I'm being somewhat of a jerk by making them feel that way.

But I've never, ever seen anyone walk around in her birthday suit, do sit-ups, sit on the bench, or use the dryer in that raw. People must be more prudish here!

Wow am I glad I grew up in San Diego Cali in the 70's.

Nudity was the norm for us.  Our entire house (co ed) and neighbors sharing a back yard NEVER wore clothes.  We lived, cooked, drank, played, and made music naked.  We frequented Blacks Beach, where we played volleyball, surfed, flew kites, and layed in the sun together.  In fact the people that stood out were the dressed, mostly Navy guys with cameras.

It doesn't bother me what people do in the locker room, or look like naked.

As for grunting and groaning, all I can say is wait until you have some years on you.  All those small injuries you have come back with a vengence.  Yep it hurts me to bend over to put socks on.

O hai...

I've gotten used to women talking to me nekkid in the locker room, hands on hips like we just met up at Yogurtland, but I've never had them talk about their parts. That's new.

Ok so I have to add...we have a guy (I always refer to him as the hairy guy) who comes into the pool and swims maybe two laps and then proceeds to the hot tub to do push ups...he swims around in it too. Then he goes over to the open rinse off shower and takes a full shower w/ soap and all and then proceeds to take his trunks off while holding the towel w/his teeth, he then wraps the towel around him and carries said trunks out way in front him to make it a point that we all see...dude seriously!!! I don't need to see that!!! Yes I reported it...yes they talked to him...no they didn't kick him out and hubby now tells me same hairy guy showers in the men's locker room w/door open....ick!!!

we must go to the same gym, i call this dude naked man. He always wants to carry on a conversation butt naked and almost close enough to touch you with it. When he comes in everyone hurries up and gets out of the locker room asap. I also had to get on some dude for shooting snot rockets in the shower. Some people are nasty as hell.
