Sunny
Total Time = 1h 19m 42s
Overall Rank = 65/83
Age Group = F
Age Group Rank = 18/27
Pre-race routine:

Got picked up at work. Watched my family eat donuts and bagels at Dunkin Donuts. Fun. Then hung out before the start and stared at the buoy.
Event warmup:

Splashed around in the water a bit. Threatened to help Rob get used to water more quickly ;).
Swim
  • 11m 42s
  • 400 yards
  • 02m 55s / 100 yards
Comments:

Yeah, the swim sucked. I was REALLY dizzy when I got out of the water. I could barely stand upright.
What would you do differently?:

Be more prepared for an open water swim!
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Transition time was combined with swim split. I took my time and tried to regain my balance.
What would you do differently?:

Next time I would like to remember to put my water bottles on my bike...
Bike
  • 37m 6s
  • 12 miles
  • 19.41 mile/hr
Comments:

This was the best part of the race.I forgot to put my bottles on my bike, so Rob was nice enough to give me one of his.
What would you do differently?:

Beat Pam next time! :)
Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

An uneventful T2.
Run
  • 30m 54s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 09m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

I wanted to walk MANY times, but I figured Rob would throw me down on the side of the road and kick me ;), so I kept running. T2 was added onto my run split so I am happy with my overall run time.
What would you do differently?:

I did this race without ever having done a bike to run brick, so maybe I should do a few of those before my next race...
Post race
Warm down:

Drank the water that never made it onto my bike. Talked to everyone. Put on a dry shirt and hit the road.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

This was my first race so I was just trying to get a feel for where I am in my training. I need to swim and run more. Overall I was pleased with my performance. It was fun doing this with Rob- he coached me the whole way! Thanks buddy!

Event comments:

It's a small, no frills, no tee shirt, after work race, but still organized and fun!

Hey Polly,

It was great to see you and meet your family. It was really cool that they were there for your first tri. You did awesome and it only gets better from here.
