Subject: Anyone doing challenge penticton?
Anyone doing challenge penticton?I had planned on doing IMC next year it now I'm torn. My plan is too wait and see where IMC is next year before I sign up. My big concern with challenge is that here won't be many athletes and I'll be out by myself a lot of of the time. Any ideas as to how many have signed up?

I have no idea how many have signed up, but it sounds like many people will still be doing it once they find out the new IMC venue and are able to decide.

There are many benefits to this format I've been told which SEEMS to make a more user friendly experience overall.  Challenge races get great reviews in Europe so I'm not worried about it at all.

I am waiting to find out the venue and then will be choosing between IMC and Challenge myself.

Have never raced with Challenge, but I did race the IMC course a few weeks back.  AMAZING course!!!!  Simply beautiful and the people of Penticton are wonderful and friendly, well supported by the community!  From a participant standpoint, tons of Canadians race here year after year, the majority of the field had raced this course before. 

I have raced other WTC IMs and 2 independent fulls (REV 3, and Vineman), don't be afraid to race a full just because it doesn't carry the IM brand.

I was in the line on Monday morning and if the way we were pampered is any indication of the way they put on a race, well...I'm excited

I have done IMC three times now.  I think that it's the beautiful course, the volunteers and the locals out cheering us on that makes the race.  I wouldn't worry about lower numbers of participants.  If anything I think it might be a blessing, certainly for the swim and the bike.  It gets spread out on the run no matter what.

I for one am looking forward to next year and seeing what is to come
