Subject: Mountain Bike as training tool
Today I had to use my mountain bike for my training ride because my road bike is in the shop. My question: Is it bad to train on a Mountain Bike some of the time? I wouldn't think it would be bad if it was done every once in a while, but thought I would ask the experts.

I train with both, doing my shorter weekday rides with the mountain bikes and the longer weekend rides with the road bike. I'm comfortable with both. Also I like going way faster on the road tires after riding with thicker knobbier MTB tires.

My best cardio work is with the mountain bike - I hit the trails and mountains and give the lungs a hell of a workout.
