Not sure the best place to post this, but I figured this would be as good of a place as any. I'm signed up for IMOO 2013, & now I want to get my lodging down. I'm trying to figure out a decent downtown hotel that is fairly close to the action, but not crazy expensive (ie. no Menona Hilton $500 per night), more like low $200's or less). Luckily I have relatives that I can stay with earlier in the week, but want something for Sat-Sun nights, since they live further away. I understand many have 3 night min. My main focus is being close the morning of for me, & having a base near the action to take a break for my family/friends (spectating is hard work, & I want them smiling at the finish too!) Right now I'm just making multiple reservations before they book up, so I thought I'd see if you guys had any insight. Thanks so much!!

I just booked my room at the University Inn for next year. It appeared to be the cheapest place within walking distance to the start that still had rooms as of 2 nights ago.. I think it was something like $170 or $180 a night-ish-maybe-definitely-less-than-$200-ish?

Thanks for the info! The University Inn doesn't have any availability. I currently have reservations at the Edgewater ($226 a night, 2 nights) & the Doubletree ($209 a night, but a 3 night min). It makes me feel better you guys mentioned both those! I usually over-research things, but rooms are filling up fast, so I don't want to be homeless, but also don't want a place that might make me wish I was!

Haha! I did consider it and even looked at the cost to rent an RV for the weekend......but...In the end, I thought a hotel would be better-suited for the 1st!

I do plan on coming to the pasta dinner again! :-)

If my wife and I end up getting a house, we're planning to host a few athletes traveling in from out of town to help on their expenses. I'll post once we find out if our offer and everything is accepted. It'll be in Monona, so like 3mi or so from swim start/ race finish.
