Pre-race routine:

We arrived on Thursday, so I could get myself acclimated. When we arrived my kids had a huge bouquet of flowers delivered which was an awesome surprise. My oldest wouldn't be coming because he had army training and I had been disappointed, only to discover Thursday his wife was not coming either, it made for an upsetting weekendbecasue unfortunately we got into it on Thursday. Waking up Friday I started to feel not so good, we were able to get checked in and walked around, I got in about a 20 min swim that felt really good, I had volunteered the year before so knew where things would be. We went and bought some zycam and emergenc and hoped for the bestBy Friday night at the dinner
which was motivating I was really starting to feel under the weather. Saturday i woke up and my throat was really hurting i diid a quick run and bike then took my bike to check in , then back for some more mess at the store and arm warmers as we diverted morning temps would be 50 degrees. I woke up Sunday morning barley able to swallow, but it was race day so put a smile on and hope for the best, had a PB sanwhich and a small bit of coffee.
