Subject: 9.13.12 Thursday Training!

Good morning BT!

4:15am:  60 minute walk followed by some stretching.  Felt great to have an easy, easy day.

Later:  on a bus to an Idaho ski resort for a cross country meet.  My kids will be running up a ski slope...gotta love that!

Enjoy your rest day!  Way too many of those here. No sweat today--2600m of swimming. Was happy to find I haven't gotten markedly slower after missing over a week of training, just needed some extra recovery on the 100's. Felt better at the end than at the beginning, which I guess is a good sign! Going to bed early to run early AM tomorrow if I don't get flooded out again. (Monsoon time!)

Good Morning. 3.5 miles of running the neighborhood this morning. The first 1.5 was with my wife. AWESOME start to the day.

 Good Morning

Not sure whats on tap for me today yet, Its either a run or roller blading, I haven't been on the blades for about 6 weeks so I am kinda leaning that way, low impact and a total different muscle group workout, might be good to switch it up.

Maybe its one of those days. I'm not sure either. Its supposed to be the hill run day but a long walk with the dog doesn't sound totally bad either and regroup ahead of the weekend.

Had one of those hilly 20 mile rides last night that felt like 40, but it was a good ride.  1100 in the pool at lunch, followed by a 5 mile run after work.

Teech-Hope your kids have a good race.  Being from Texas, I'd love to see some pics of that course.

First OWS in a wetsuit whooooooo what fun! SOOO floaty! My hands were pretty cold, my feet were chilly but okay, but the rest of me was just cozy. Didn't feel claustrophobic (I'm not, anyway) or overly constricted. Kinda felt like a sassy superhero putting on a wetsuit. Hope the image below works.

Later today - picking up my bike from my LBS. Had the bottom bracket replaced on warranty because it had a terrible grindy/resistant feel to it and the crank had a lot of play where there should be none! For a bike less than a year old, the bike shop said that that shouldn't happen at all. Hooray for warranties! Short ride later, just to test ride.

Ended up doing 8 miles on the roller blades at lunch, rechecked my logs and discovered its been more then 3 months since the last blading outing, and tonight IT SURE FEELS LIKE IT, OUCH ,OUCH Wink

I ended up going out with the dog for about 40 mins. We walked a little, ran a little, and stopped at a lot of trees. Legs feel a lot fresher this morning with the rest and looking forward to the weekend distances.
