Subject: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us?

Left Brain and I have committed to 30 runs in 30 days.  2 miles or 20 minute minimum to count as a run.

Feel free to do the challenge and leave your updates here for others to learn from.

I am already thankful to have this new goal.  Last night I was sitting on my a** in my recliner and feeling pretty lethargic.  I was waiting on my brother to arrive so we could go grab a beer and dinner....then it hit me "Sh*t, I told LeftBrain today would be day 1 of 30"

After 3.7 miles in 30 mins 35 seconds I went to dinner.

Thank you LeftBrain for motivating me.

Awesome everyone - welcome aboard.

I just finished my Day 2 run.  4.7 miles - 38 mins 13 sec.  Feeling pretty good - hope I can still say that after 10 or 12 or 30 days.

Alright, good deal.  Glad to see a little group forming, should be plenty of motivation. Last night I sandwiched mine between a 30 minute ride and 30 minute swim....this morning just ran a couple while my kid had XC practice.

Awesome to have a group forming.

With the peer pressure, I am sure I will complete this now.

Need clarification- Is this 30 days in a row? or just 30 runs whenever. Cuz i thought rest days were important. Anyway, I want in.

There is a challenge forum.

I am holding out for the thanksgiving to new years streak. A really good time to do one if you ask me.

30 days in a row.   Very important not to push yourself, and don't take this on if it would be a huge increase in your weekly mileage.  That is a good way to get injured.

I am not doing this as part of my Ironman Training - I am doing it to focus on running.

I did not know that.  Can this thread be bumped to that forum by one of the moderators?

hey, no problem. It is funny how long it takes to find all the nooks of this site. The more the merrier. And I note that my post may have come off kind of like, "yeah, a 30 day challenge is great but why would you do it now and not wait for the thanksgiving to new years challenge." Which was not meant at all.

So you thinking I shouldn't taper that much?  You might be right as I have an IM in November.  We'll see how tired my legs are on Monday (after tomorrow's 100k ride and 5k run).  Maybe I'll start tomorrow.

My wife and I are in. Gotta get back into running somehow. Hopefully this will help give us (ME) the kick in the a** I need!

No - I'm not thinking that at all.  I'm thinking that a 30 runs in 30 days challenge with a HIM as the start is a bit much.  I can't imagine going for a run after a HIM.  Taper should be at least 1 full week.

Then to have a full IM in November - doing 30 runs in 30 days might throw your training plan off.

Very, Very aggressive, but I am not one to discourage anyone - ever...so if it is in your plan, I say more power to you.

Didn't take your post as anything negative.  I may continue this streak - but want to be careful to not get attached to the streak and be afraid to quit.  However, I can see myself continuing after 30 days.

Ah!  I already run 6 days/week so this shouldn't be a big deal but who knows.    Tomorrow will start the taper but I'll start the 30 days today after my ride.

This actually got my butt outa the bed this am. Felt awful head cold but pushed through it and got in a nice 10k before church. Thanks for the motivation.
